The ASICS UB6-S GT-2160 'Kiko Kostadinov Arctic Blue Carbon' (2024) represents the continued evolution of performance-oriented design fused with avant-garde aesthetics. Emerging from the collaborative lineage between ASICS and Bulgarian designer Kiko Kostadinov, this reinterpretation of the heritage GT-2160 silhouette reflects the duo’s shared commitment to form-meets-function innovation, marked by bold lines, futuristic materials, and tonal harmony. Overview Part of the UB6-S line under ASICS’ Novalis umbrella, the GT-2160 in ‘Arctic Blue Carbon’ blends archival running DNA with sculptural detailing curated by Kiko Kostadinov’s studio. The upper features a layered mesh and synthetic build in an icy “Arctic Blue” hue, juxtaposed with metallic Carbon overlays that accentuate the shoe’s aerodynamic contours. A segmented midsole design nods to early 2010s tech runners while integrating GEL cushioning for modern comfort. The exaggerated tooling and undulating paneling reflect Kostadinov’s visual language—technical, yet wearable. Finished with tonal branding and reflective detailing, this edition pushes the GT-2160 silhouette into fashion-forward territory without sacrificing the core principles of ASICS’ performance heritage. Key Highlights • Kiko Kostadinov Co-Creation: Designed under the guidance of the Kiko Kostadinov Studio for ASICS' UB6-S line, emphasizing architectural precision and conceptual depth. • Arctic Blue & Carbon Colorway: A cool, futuristic palette that enhances the layered construction while staying rooted in performance cues. • Performance-Driven Heritage: Retains the GT-2160’s hallmark features—GEL technology, segmented midsole, and lightweight mesh—reimagined for lifestyle appeal.
